Ripped off from the BamaRides forum this morning, by BOOTYHUNTER:
Richard Randolph, the Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program Manager is trying to gauge interest in the Advanced RiderCourse to include it in the course offerings or not. One of the ways he is trying to do this is by seeking input from riders. Currently, the AMSP offers the BRC (Basic RiderCourse), the BRC II (formerly the Experienced RiderCourse) and if Mr. Randolph receives enough interest about this course then the ARC will be added.
Here is a description of the ARC from msf-usa.org.
"Advanced RiderCourse (ARC) [formerly ARC-ST]
A one-day course that complements a rider's basic skills and helps with personal risk assessment. It includes a fast-paced classroom segment with several interactive activities to improve perception and hazard awareness. Range exercises enhance both basic skills and crash avoidance skills. Improving braking and cornering finesse is emphasized. The course is beneficial for riders on any type of street motorcycle."
Mr. Randolph would like students and fellow riders to send emails either requesting the training or stating that it’s not needed. Emails need a subject titled “ARC-ST YES or NO.” randolphrw@montevallo.edu
At this point, I don't know any specifics about pricing, what the particulars are about the ARC (other than what is stated above) etc... Any questions regarding the ARC should be emailed along with your decision to include the ARC or not to Mr. Randolph.
