I was reading my latest copy of Rider magazine and one of the rider tips struck me as very usefull. The writer suggested that instead of watching the person in a vehicle that might pull out in front of you, watch the front wheel. If that wheel begins to rotate, expect the vehicle to pull out. The suggestion was to slow down, flash lights or something else to attract attention. In my case, the first thing I added to my bike was a WOLO horn. It was a simple addition. The horn is air powered, dual toned and VERY LOUD. when I see someone about to pull out in front of me, or just not paying attention, I give them a blast on the horn. It gets them every time. It works better than loud pipes too!

A WOLO horn?  What is it?  Think I could get one for the Rebel?  Anything that will help save my life, I'm down for.  Where did you get it?

Yep been watching the front rims for yrs. They are easier to detect movement (dont know how many times those spinners have gave me a heart attack lol). Plus i cover my brakes at intersections with cages there.

Like a good friend said to me one time, watch all cages because YOUR OWN MOTHER CAN PULL OUT IN FRONT OF YOU BY ACCIDENT.  image002

All intersections are dangerous and one should always approach with caution, one of the most common mistakes new and returning riders make is assuming that when the light turns green they are free to proceed and speed into the intersection. If it is one that is really busy you would be wise to take 2! Take two seconds and wait, then proceed, better yet you use a shield if others are allowed to proceed at the same time as you, use a car to protect one of your open sides.
